OVERVIEW
This project aimed to provide an accurate, up-to-date picture of the rural employment situation in two selected provinces. It also looked at policy relevance on gender equality for employment through the identification of labor market challenges in terms of labor supply and demand. In addition, it included an assessment of labor access to productive and decent employment opportunities, particularly for female workers. Apart from promoting economic empowerment of rural women as a whole, the research acted as an instrumental asset to the implementations of the Government’s Gender Equality Law adopted in 2006 and the 2011-2020 National Strategy for Gender Equality.
