Based on data collected from the Survey on the socio-economic situation of 53 ethnic minorities carried in 2015, this report provided a comprehensive picture of the socio-economic situation of the 53 ethnic minorities (EMs) in Vietnam with overall analyses and assessments on general aspects/profile of the EMs, including: the cultural, medical, educational, etc. characteristics. The report also analyzed in detail two major issues of the EMs – education (female illiteracy, enrolment at official age) and child mortality. Based on these analyses, the report puts forward several policy recommendations to address the problems facing ethnic minorities.
