“In my three month internship at MDRI, I learned many things about the development sector in Vietnam and the process of impact evaluation. I was involved in a developing a proposal for a deworming evaluation, drafting a questionnaire for an evaluation of disability support services, analyzing data from a central highlands poverty reduction program to design a multi-dimensional poverty index, and conducting background research for an evaluation of the vocational training sector. The team at MDRI was very welcoming, supportive, and fun to work with. I would recommend an internship at MDRI for anyone wanting to gain experience in development economics research and consulting.”

– Cara Nolan (Intern from Australia, April – June 2015)

MDRI welcomes interns who are passionate to gain first-hand experience in the field of development economics and research.

Our interns will normally participate in a three-to-six-month program during which they will have opportunities to gain a practical viewpoint on development work. Interns may accompany our Research Team on field trips throughout the region. Hence, they will be able to enrich their analytical skills through data collection and report preparation work. At the same time, interns will also be exposed to a variety of development issues as they support our staff with various on-going projects.
