Kick-starting the impact evaluation survey for Vietnam Escuela Nueva Project (VNEN) 2015

Mekong Development Research Institute (MDRI) has been entrusted to conduct independent impact evaluation for the Vietnam Escuela Nueva Project (VNEN) – a highly anticipated initiative towards reforming the primary education system – since 2013.

The institute has been working closely with the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) and the World Bank (WB) to prepare for this year’s survey round which is expected to launch in the last week of November 2015 in 53 provinces throughout the country.

On October 13th, 2015, MDRI organized the pilot field trip to test the assessment procedures for students and questionnaires for both grade 5 students and teachers. The field trip took place at eight primary schools in four provinces: Lang Son, Bac Giang, Thanh Hoa, and Dak Lak.
