MDRI conducted household survey on Rural Piped Water Connection

Hanoi, June 25, 2014. MDRI was assigned by the World Bank’s Development Research Group in Washington D.C to conduct the Household survey – Rural Piped Water Connection project.
From April to June 2014, MDRI conducted the study on Rural Piped Water Connection, the evidence of which would have global relevance for regions and countries seeking cost-effective and sustainable solutions for rural water supply, particularly in the context of arsenic contaminated groundwater.

The fieldwork was undertaken in three villages in My Huong commune (Bac Ninh province), including: An My, Nghia Huong and My Xuyen. It was subjected to provide data for analyzing the situation of water consumption in the commune. MDRI enumerators interviewed a total of 1,919 households in three villages to collect information on household characteristics as well as their water usage. The study’s findings would be summarised in a report to be delivered to the World Bank’s Research group in late June 2014.
