Training on Vietnam’s social safety net for Government officials of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh

(18 December, 2017) Hanoi, Vietnam_MDRI is organizing a series of training on social safety net for the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh.

8 government officials from the Ministry of Local Government – Rural Development and Co-operatives, the Ministry of Finance, and the Ministry of Planning came to learn about the progress of Vietnam on economic development and the policies that Vietnam is implementing to achieve the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The meeting held by Dr Phung Duc Tung and Ms Ta Thi Khanh Van (MSc) on 18th September was the first activity of their three-day visit to Ha Noi. This presentation covered Vietnam’s economic condition and its policies toward four aspects of the social safety net, comprising poverty reduction, ethnic minorities, education, and health care.
The three-day training will also consist of visits to government departments of Vietnam to learn about different policies on poverty reduction, ethnic minorities, health and education, etc.
