Imbizo Country Consultations

Overview

Country stakeholders have been asking for an opportunity to provide the Global Fund with strategic, technical, and operational feedback. Imbizo, a Xhosa word meaning “a gathering to share knowledge,” is an opportunity for country stakeholders to share their perceptions on the strengths and the challenges related to the processes and activities presented under Global Fund’s operational model, as set out under the Global Fund’s Operational Policy Manual. As an iterative and independent feedback mechanism, Imbizo’s thematic priorities will continuously adapt by listening to country stakeholders while also focusing on year-on-year core themes.

In 2024, Imbizo’s pilot year, Principal Recipients and Country Coordinating Mechanism members of the Global Fund will be invited to provide feedback through:

  • Country stakeholder consultations
  • A global online survey, and
  • A regional learning forum.

The Imbizo team is from a consortium led by IQVIA with partners from Broad Impact based out of Nigeria and MDRI based out of Vietnam. Acting as a sub-contractor of IQVIA, MDRI supports the coordination of deep dive consultations in Asia.

Main tasks:

  • Translate qualitative research instruments
  • Conduct virtual in-depth interviews (IDIs) with members of the Country Coordinating Mechanism (CCM) of the Global Fund in Vietnam
  • Transcribe and translate interview recordings
  • Perform thematic analysis of qualitative data
