Assessment on the socio-economic impacts of hydro-power projects’ resettlement on ethnic minorities

This study examines the participation and voice of affected ethnic households in the process of land acquisition and resettlement of hydro-power projects, with a particular focus on their living situations in resettlement sites.

The study involves both in-depth qualitative and rigorous quantitative analysis to gain insight into the current situation of affected households in three regions – the Northern Mountain, Central, and Central Highlands regions – where hydro-power projects have been constructed and operational. The research findings will contribute to the identification of challenges that threaten resettled households in sustaining their livelihoods and will serve as key inputs for CEMA and state agencies in amending, formulating, and monitoring future ethnic minority policies and programs.
