Viet Nam Enterprise Surveys 2026 (ES2026) – World Bank Business Ready (B-READY) Initiative

Overview

The Viet Nam Enterprise Surveys 2026 is a World Bank establishment-level survey that aims to understand firms’ day-to-day experiences and perceptions of the business environment in which they operate, covering topics such as access to finance, corruption, infrastructure, and competition. The survey methodology and questionnaire are standardized across more than 150 economies to ensure national representativeness and cross-country comparability. Data from this round will also be used for the World Bank’s Business Ready (B-READY) project, which succeeds the former Doing Business rankings.

The survey will interview 1,000 establishments nationwide, including firms previously interviewed for earlier rounds, to build a panel dataset that allows researchers to track changes in the business environment over time and assess the effects of business-enabling reforms. The overall goal is to support evidence-based, policy-oriented analysis and help shape the agenda for business-enabling reforms in Viet Nam.

Key responsibilities:

– Translate and adapt the Screener and Enterprise Survey questionnaires and training materials into Vietnamese.

– Prepare the sampling frame and universe population figures by region, sector, and firm size.

– Recruit, train, and supervise enumerators and field supervisors on the survey methodology.

– Pilot the questionnaire and confirm necessary revisions before full-scale fieldwork.

– Conduct face-to-face interviews with owners and top managers of 1,000 establishments nationwide, including re-contacting panel firms.

– Monitor fieldwork quality and ensure data accuracy and consistency throughout data collection.

– Deliver the clean dataset and an Implementation Report to the World Bank.
