Discrepancy in urban and rural governance at the disaggregated levels in Vietnam: A small area estimation approach

Overview

This project examines the discrepancy in urban and rural governance using the Viet Nam Provincial Governance and Public Administration Performance Index (PAPI) survey in 2011. Governance and public administration, measured by a composite index of the six dimensions of governance including participation, transparency, accountability, corruption, public administrative procedures, and public service delivery, are better experienced by urban citizens than rural citizens. Factors associated with this urban-rural difference in governance and public administration are then examined at the district level.
