Profile
Before her Master’s study in Development Economics and Environmental Economics, Mai Trang spent over 2 years in the development NGO sector where her involvement in pro-poor projects and programmes sharpened her skills in project management, M&E, and stakeholder liaison. Her experiences conducting research in the Mekong Delta region and doing her internship at Bioversity International Research Institute in Italy provided her with invaluable qualitative and quantitative research skills, and instated her career choice in development research. Mai Trang’s research interests include poverty reduction, management of natural resources and climate change, social vulnerability, youth employment opportunities, and cultural integration. She enjoys doing fieldwork in the most disadvantaged regions to generate insights for her studies. Besides, having taken the lead of the implementation of several surveys, Trang has accumulated substantial experience in survey tools design, enumerator recruitment and training, and quality control.
