Profile

Ari Kokko is Professor of International Business at Copenhagen Business School (CBS) and an enthusiastic analyst of a wide range of issues related to economic development and internationalisation. He has formerly held important positions in universities and research institutes in Nordic countries. He is a member of the Board of Directors of SIDA, and Chairman for a Swedish government inquiry into the development of Swedish export competitiveness. He runs the Center for International Business and Emerging Markets at CBS and focuses on the role of trade and foreign direct investment in the development process. In recent years, his work has shown clear emphasis on China and East Asia. He has been engaged as an advisor and consultant to a number of national governments and international organisations in the regions. Prof. Kokko received an honorary doctorate in the Economic Sciences at Tartu University, Estonia.
